The Shocking Truth of the Real World!

I (Tadd) was thinking about doing something like this for awhile, but I never really wanted to get into drawing a comic or anything. A few nights ago, I and my new roomate were just talking and this topic came up. "I've always wanted to parody the Highlights 'comic' since it's so heavy-handed." Add to this the fact that our college had a version of this comic in their newspaper that was even more heavy-handed, and we had incentive. Kevin can draw better than I can (but not "well" per se). He draws people, I draw objects and scan the images into the computer and process everything. We both do the writing too, so it's actually a decently even job we're doing.

The main idea of this comic was "what if Goofus won a few times?" That is to say, in "real life," the "goody-two-shoes" doesn't always win out in life. It's oftentimes the slackers, the college dropouts, and the jerks who get ahead in life. However, in some comics, nobody is a clear "winner," and in yet others, we have both of the main characters lose.
